British Shooting Show 2022

It's been a while since Forces Tactical managed to get out and about to an exhibition so we were itching to get to the British Shooting Show (held at the NEC in Birmingham).

The best resource to guarantee the safety, security and future within the shooting sport is education and information. Learning about the safe practises of buying, handling, maintaining, storing, securing, transporting, licensing and owning a firearm in the UK are always great topics to start with.

The British Shooting Show is a platform for people to discover the shooting sport and to be given the opportunity to speak to professionals and learn more about the sport and safety practises before making an informed decision on their purchase. There’s everything for the beginner who’s never even touched a firearm, and for the seasoned pro to touch up on the latest safety and information.

With big names like Accuracy International, Blaser, Browning, Hawke, Mauser, Tippmann, Vortex in attendance amongst some really interesting smaller brands, it was great to see some fantastic innovations in the shooting world. The show is pretty much split into 3 main areas of interest: Shotguns/Hunting, Rifles/Target Shooting and Clothing/Accessories (oh, and food!)

What really caught our eye was the affordability of some great optics solutions (including thermal imaging!). Scopes with thermal imaging, recording and range finding capabilities on display were circa £1500 - capabilities that were pushing the £10k mark only a few years ago.

We also got up close and personal with the Barrett MRAD rifle (a bolt-action sniper rifle designed by Barrett to meet the requirements of the SOCOM PSR) along with its classic big brother, the M82! We'll keep saving up...

A cracking day out!
